It also could portray the modern term used to describe computer programming code. Something electronic, or digital. This is an optional twist.

If you can somehow portray both: ancient symbols, as well as a modern or futuristic, electronic/digital feel, that may be ideal.

The logo should portray feelings of mystery, exclusivity, luxury, and secrecy and should look cryptic itself. If you can implement the word "code" into the logo in a non-obvious fashion, that would be interesting.
