Penalty points
Introduction
Penalty points or PPs are assigned to a designer's account when the Designer's Code of Conduct has been broken. They can be assigned after losing an 'abuse report' case or manually assigned by LogoLeague support staff. If you accumulate over 300 Penalty Points, administrators will disable your account unless there are unusual circumstances. LogoLeague, in cooperation with intellectual property lawyers, has defined a framework for what is allowed and what is not allowed. You can find a description of the framework here. Our support staff uses this framework to analyze the case and make a decision. Please respect the decision of our support staff. Designers have the opportunity to send 'abuse reports' to LogoLeague support. Support will decide if these 'abuse reports' are valid. In case a case is validated the offender will be penalized. The following penalty points will be assigned:
Violation | Points |
---|---|
Stock art | 50 PPs |
Trace | 50 PPs |
Similar to an existing logo (within a contest): | 25 PPs |

In case you misuse an 'abuse report' the following penalty points will be assigned:

If one of your comments in a contest is removed the following penalty points will be assigned:
Violation | Points |

Not respecting or valuing the client: | 40 PPs |
Unprofessional comment: | 10 PPs |
Promotion of designs | 5 PPs |

Banned or disabled accounts
A designer becomes a candidate for a ban if their penalty points (PPs) exceed 300 points. The designer's actions may also result in being banned. The facts of each case are carefully reviewed before we make a ban decision. In addition and in conjunction with the above PP list, designers can be banned for the following additional reasons:
Disrespecting clients or other designers in an unacceptable manner
Presenting designs that are too similar to those of other designers (e.g., copying Top Designers in a contest)
Abusive behavior
Creating multiple accounts
Making special deals with clients that bend or break the rules or contradict the results of LogoLeague
Promising to provide free files or work to clients to win a contest
Note: If you are banned and then win a contest in which you previously participated, we will evaluate the winning logo based on your penalties and the reasons for your ban. We may warn the client about potential issues related to using your winning design.
